It may sound cliché, but it is true. This is my biggest learning this week as I go through my 90-day challenge of building a small business with a 10 million valuation from a 10k capital.
I was down to 1k capital and I still haven’t produced any sales. And yet, I need more capital as my supplier needs to buy new fabric.
💡 The Aha Moment: Tapping into the “Pasabuy” Trend
A friend messaged me on Facebook, presenting an opportunity — she wanted me to buy shampoo from Japan for her. The revelation hit me; there is a growing "pasabuy" service for Filipinos traveling to and from Japan.
After reaching out to my Instagram followers about the Pasabuy concept, 10 inquiries flooded in. I went live and viola! These inquiries translated into immediate earnings, bringing in 10k.
Someone from my live even asked if I could go to GU - a clothing store in Japan. Initially, I refused because GU is a bit far from me. But, I gave in eventually after 5 customers confirmed they wanted to order from GU.
💸 Unexpected Triumph: 40k Sales in 2 Days
To my surprise, I achieved close to 40k in sales within just 2 days — a mere 10 minutes of walking and 30 minutes of live selling.
I was pretty surprised that a lot of people are interested in buying in GU stores. Turns out, it's because there are no GU stores in Manila. Can't blame them, though -- GU stores provide high-quality clothing at an affordable price. I was pleasantly surprised.
Now, the unexpected windfall from these sales provides me with enough capital to participate in a bazaar that I am joining this weekend.
